Here are some examples how lateral thinking was applied to some challenging problems. Plenty of creativity and unusual designs. End result? Lots of happy clients. Problems solved.

Inflatable Promotional Packaging

Brief: Launch new alcoholic product with a difference. Client's initial thoughts were to create the product in "a pillow of air" at retail outlets. With alcohol, taste is everything. So we applied our thinking to exactly that. An extremely tasteful brand focussed design. The Ladon team cracked the idea by creating an innovative design and the rest is history. The design wins the Australian Plastics Fabrication Association (APFA) design and innovation award.

Product Familiarisation Pack

The brief? Must be all things to all people. Create a pack to package patient video, booklet, diary, sample tablet pack and pen for a pharmaceutical company. Most importantly, must be compact and consumer friendly. Using plenty of grey matter, Ladon created a multi-purpose piece that incorporated gusset pockets in a multi-fold PVC pack.

Product Display Carry Case

Highly functional was the main criteria here. Create a carry case that was dead easy for sales reps to use and carry. And then, hey presto! Convert into an impressive display case. The client pitched in and provided vac formed trays. Ladon did the rest by designing a superb self-supporting kit.

Diagnostic Tool

The plan was to show existing diagnostic charts in an entirely new light. (the current charts had failed the durability test.) The Ladon team suggested Polypropylene flip charts with litho printed pictures for improved resolution and clarity. And the durability problem? Easy, a self supporting stand was incorporated into the design. Client was so impressed with the cards, they decided to carry through the design and incorporate a compact, durable Polypropylene box.

A Bubble Binder??

The brief was to create something that reflected their unique image not only visually but also in a tactile way. So, how about a ring binder that reflected that. The clients' current products have bubbles printed on their packaging. Tricky task, but the Ladon team came up with a design where the bubbles were embossed into multi layers. Once again this design drew high praise from the Australian Plastics Fabrication Association (AFPA) with a highly commended award.

Specialty Swatch Display Kit

A mass of textured sample swatches which needed to be easily accessible for the end user to browse but also a convenient carry pack for sales reps to deliver. The Ladon team came up with a simple idea that allowed the swatches to swing freely, and yet snaps closed into a handy case with a carry handle.

Have the Best of Both Worlds

Want to really stand out from the crowd? A fusion of 2 different materials might be the answer. This brief was to reflect the industrial image of the client whilst creating a binder that could be easily customised for several tender submissions. The industrial look was achieved by using blue metallic PVC, complimented by sturdy press stud closure. This has been combined with a clear polypropylene front with a die cut panel so the customised printed top sheet is easily seen – the result is a totally unique and practical binder.

Folder with Foam Inserts

Do you have a lot of different shaped items that you would like to be presented all together in a smart and stylish way? Die cut foam inserts may be the way to go. The foam is die cut to the exact shape and thickness of your items so they fit snugly giving a flush display and allowing for easy removal.

Clipboard with a Difference

How do you fit a Toblerone onto a clipboard and make sure it stays there? Easy says Ladon - make a polypropylene triangular box and design it so that it can fit easily and over the clipboard fitting so that it is still easily usable. This design was a winner with our client and also the conference attendees who all got their chocolates!

Expressions of Interest Tender Presenter

The call was for something very distinct that should make a huge impression on presentation when holding tender submission documents. And the client only needed twelve! Solution was simple. A superb hand made folder, specifically designed to hold custom sized documents with box like pockets that made allowances for a large number of pages.
